Daniel James: Music
Walk With Me
(Daniel James)
November 1, 2005
Daniel James Martinusen
I wrote this song after my car had mysteriously refused to start, even after several attempts. I was stranded alone at a place where my late grandmother's old piano was stored. Using her piano, I wrote down the words to this song. When I went out to retry the car, someone I knew stopped by and "jump-started" my starter with a screwdriver. My car started fine from then on.
Walk With Me
(V1)
Walking through this life, sometimes I feel alone
Lord, sometimes it feels like no one’s there
But then I realize, I’ve drifted from you, Lord
I really haven’t spent much time in prayer
And then I fall upon my knees and call upon you
And you reach down and tell me, “My child, I still love you"
(Chorus)
“Just walk with me, and talk with me
I want to hear you say, Lord, I still love you
Just walk with me- down this road
I want to hold your hand- everywhere you go
Walk with me”
(V2)
You’re walking down the road beside me, oh Lord
Watching every move I make
And every time I fall- you catch me- like a loving Father
You show me where I made mistakes
And then you pick me up and give me strength
To make it through again
Lord, I’m unworthy of you saying to me, "Friend, just...."
(Repeat chorus)
